Short Break in Pamplona

I generally travel to Spain several times a year. These pictures are from a weekend that I went to Pamplona to visit my family.

Pamplona is not one of the biggest cities in Spain but famous for its festivities San Fermin (7th-14th of July). These festivities are internationally famous after Hemingway wrote about them in his first famous book. The Bull Run in the streets made such an impression on him that he chose the fiesta as the backdrop to his first successful novel, "The Sun Also Rises", Hemingway returned to the Fiesta of San Fermin eight times after that. He converted a simple local festivity, practically unheard of abroad, into one of the world’s most famous celebrations and the destination ever since for thousands and thousands of foreign tourists.
The Bull Run can be seen during these days of July on direct TV every morning in the whole country.  Even if I have family in Pamplona, we were not living there, so when I was young I used to get up early every morning during these days to watch the Bull Run. I have always found it very impressive.

On my weekend visit, we went to have some tapas and cerveza to the city canter and we walked through all these famous Bull Run streets which are quite busy every weekend as they are full of shops and tapas bars. We also went to the Ciudadela Park where you can see beautiful views of the city.

I love your floral blouse! I remember when my family and I went to Pamploma, it was a beautiful place but I could hear the bull fights at night when I tried to sleep and I didn't like that :/
