Lakeside Gardens apartments are located in Bodrum Peninsula, in the hills, 10 minutes from Bodrum airport and the city is just 25 minutes by car. The bus may take a bit longer but stops right outside the complex and it costs less than £2.00 . During my Turkish holidays I mainly stay in Lakeside Village and I go often to Bodrum.
Bodrum is the touristiest city in Turkey Coast. This coastal town in which traditional and modern life go along hand in hand is situated on a beautiful peninsula. Enchanting villages of houses painted in white with miles of sandy beaches Two metres under the narrow streets of Bodrum lies 5000 years of history. The city was called Halicarnassus of Caria in ancient times and was famous for housing the Mausoleum of Mausolus, one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World.
A few monuments attest to this history: Bodrum famous castle St Peter is an impressive example of medieval architecture, the Myndus Gate, the Roman theatre and the Mausoleum which is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World dating back to 353 BC. The Underwater Archeology Museum is a most fascinating attraction of the museum in Bodrum.
