How are you all? I guess with many fantastic plans for the summer :)
During the last month, I have been posting a lot about Turkey and you may wonder where I am now… well, I came back to the UK and I have been really busy at work, the weather in England has been quite cloudy but I do not mind when I am working, I find more difficult to work when it is a sunny and lovely day outside.
I have had a really good time during June too. I travelled to Madrid with some friends, it was really nice to see them after such a long time. I was going to do a post about my trip to Madrid but you probably have experienced that when we travel with a group of friends and every picture comes from a different camera, it makes a bit complicated to put them together when I don’t even know in what camera/card is the picture that I am looking for… yeah, it takes more time to do a post and even longer when the main camera is still enjoying holidays! I am waiting for the pictures and fingers crossed, I will get them very soon.
In the meantime and while I wait, I thought to move my posts from Turkey to a different country and we are moving to Greece!
Yes, I know! I did not go very far :)
We travelled to Crete last September, Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek Islands, the weather in September was fabulous, no extremely hot, just as I like it. We stayed in Rethymnon and we rented a bike to go around the island, riding a bike is great to stop easily in many places and enjoy the sun at the same time than we were on the road.

|Many colourful little churches that you can see in all the Greek Islands|
Renting a bike is the best recommendation to see Crete, the largest distance from west to east is 60km so you easily could move around the island by bike.
Crete is mountainous, and its character is defined by a high mountain range crossing from west to east, we really enjoyed of beautiful mountainous landscapes

My favourite trip in this island was our day in Lake Kournas, it is a beautiful freshwater lake in the midst of a mountain backdrop, you can sunbathe around the lake, there are sunbeds, or if you prefer, go swimming, hire a pedalo and see the goldfish and turtles in the deeper part of the lake, also plenty of wildlife i.e. ducks, birds , dabchicks… the lake is skirted by several tavernas, they have very delicious homemade yoghurt and raki with honey.

While it was sunny on the beach, between the mountains, the lake had its own micro clima, it was warm and sunny but it also had mist and clouds that made the views very beautiful
|next to the lake we had some quiet beaches with less tourists|

This is a picture from the hotel, we had really nice views, a long beach just opposite. From Rithymnon to Kournas Lake took us 20 minutes by bike.
The Beach dress is from Primak, they had it on many different colours for just £5.00, I am a little fan of Primak haha
Thanks again for all your comments, I love reading them :)
