10 Things to do in Prague

Hi everyone!

On my last post, we saw the first impressions of Prague with some amazing views of the city and now, I have a MEGA-post to show you, all the main places to visit in Prague. This city is not very big so if you stay in a hotel in the centre of Prague, you can  go to see everything by foot. A taxi or tram are not needed to see the  main places in Prague, the only time we took a taxi was from the airport to the hotel.

1.Prague Castle (last post)

2.Charles Bridge

We  started the day walking to Charles Bridge (1357), only for pedestrians.

View from Charles Bridge, the building at the end is the National Theatre

 3. Old Town Square

This is the main Square of Prague. It was founded in the 12th century. Here you can find the old Town Hall, the Church of our Lady and the Baroque Church of St Nicholas

View of the Old Town Hall
The Town Hall was established in 1338 as the Old Town administration. The oldest part are the two Gothic Towers

Astronomical clock in The Old Town: Every hour between 9:00 and 23:00, twelve apostles appear on this famous 15th century Clock, below the clock is a calendar with the signs of the Zodiac painted in 1865.

This part of The Old Town gets overcrowded of tourist to see the 12 apostles appear between 9:00-23:00

4.Time for a Trdelnik - Tomarse un Trdelnik

Trdelnik was a delicious and addictive roll of soft bread with sugar cinnamon, this snack is taken any time of the day and you find that they sell it everywhere, they are delicious and you can choose to add also chocolate, caramel, cream etc

5. See the Oldest Medieval Tavern in Prague -

This has become a tourist destination, they make their own beer which is black but it isn't a very strong beer. It was very nice.

6. Jewish town. The Synagogues:

One of the oldest and most important in the world Jewish monuments is the Old-New Synagogue. The Gothic building is from the end of the 13th century. This is the main synagogue of the Jewish community in Prague.

We visited all the synagogues and the Jewish Cemetery built in the 15th century and served as a burial ground until 1787. There are around 12,000 Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque tombstones

7. Golden Lane

These small colourful houses were built into the Castle's Gothic fortifications, Castle marksmen and artisans lived here during the 16th century.
The writer Frank Kafka lived and worked in one of these houses from 1916 to 1917.
In 2010, the Golden Lane was totally renovated

8. Crawling Babies

One more recommended things to do in Prague is seeing the Babies statues made by the most famous sculptor in Prague: David Cerny. You can see car-sized, faceless infants crawling up and down the Žižkov Television Tower, you can see them sky level in the Tower or see a couple ground level in Kampa Park along the Vlatava River

9. Lennon Wall - El muro de John Lennon

It was a normal wall and since the 1980s it has been filled with John Lennon-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Beatles' songs, the graffiti keeps changing so the wall looks very different now of how it was looking in the 80s or the 90s although it is always inspired in Lennon.

10. Street Markets:

When you walk in the centre of Prague, you cannot miss them market with artisanal products, fruit, bakery etc.

T-shirt from Dorothy Perkins, sneakers and jeans from Primak, Sunnies from Knockaround, Denim jacket from Bershka

And this is all, I hope you have liked my mega-post this week

Thanks again and in advance for your nice and very appreciated comments :)
xxx

How cute you look on that pedestrian bringe...and basically in all the photos! This summer combo is totally perfect. I do like that patterned top<3 Back to the sights...this was a great travel post. I really enjoyed it. If I ever visit Prague, I'd surely follow your tips. Naturally I heard about the churches and sinagogues, but it was great seeing all the photographs here. However, I didn't know about those infants statues, they're quite interesting.

I so have to visit that house Kafta stayed and lived in...I so have a thing for him:).

It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Prague. You enjoy traveling as much as my daughters, and Nel just did a post about her trip to Barcelona. Have you ever been there? You know, you kind of remind me Jess, my younger daughter. She is petite, pretty, and very sweet.

Have a beautiful week, traveling girl. :~)
