You may remember that on my last post I said that it was rainy in Florence. During our last day in Florence, it was raining cats and dogs so we went quickly to an underground near and found this by surprise, a different world full of Colours :)
Florence underground passageway
The weather was not looking good so we got into the car and continue our road trip, we went pass a town in Tuscany called Lucca. I have read about it before and we decided to stop to explore it as the weather was improving and was not raining there.
Lucca, the secret town in Tuscany
It is called "the secret town" beacuse it is hidden into masive thick 16th century walls that go around the complete town, Lucca is almost a perfectly preserved jewel of mediaeval and Renaissance architecture, you can walk or bike the narrow streets with its antique markets, churches and cathedrals and this town has not lost its old fashioned charm through the years.
Arriving to Lucca we found a carousel just before the door to get into the town
Here you can see the walls and door to come into Lucca:

|Church of San Michele|
Lucca will make a great setting for a film based in the 16th century.
