Welcome to February and not much left of this winter now, I can't wait for Spring to come! :)
This pictures are from last winter during our trip to Belgium, the typical cities to visit in this country are Brussels and Bruges but Ghent is becoming very touristy too and it is not surprising, this is a beautiful historical city in the East Flanders.
This castle is well worth a visit. There are very interesting torture artefacts on display used in Medieval Ages
The Castle is in a scenic location and the views of the city from the Castle are fantastic
Walking around the city centre
The best thing to do in Ghent is simply to walk around the city center and admire the architecture, sigths and history.
Graslei and Korenlei
This is the most famous area to enjoy walking around the river, the shops, restaurants and preferably summer the boat tours. All the center can be seen by foot as Ghent is not a big city.
Saint Nicholas Church
Beautiful Cathedral with gorgous stained glass, paintings and artifacts. You can see the famous painting of Jan van Eyck's Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, better known as the Ghent Altarpiece of 1432
