What to see in Khasab

Hi Guys!

As you know, I went to Unites Arab Emirates and Oman during my last holidays, if you remember, we stopped in Khasab during the cruise, this is a small city that belongs to Oman and it is bordering the UAE.

There is not much to see in Khasab as it is a small city and it is a work in progress for tourism, there are only a few shops, so I though to share the three main points to see if you are planning to come here :)

1. Arabic Fjords

You could see them on one of my latest post where we took the Dhow Cruise Tour

2. Khasab Castle

This fort was build by the Portuguese in the 17th century and has been renovated lately, in 2007.

There are various boats, clothing and artefacts placed throughout the structure. The grounds are so immaculate and well kept that you loose some of its old world charm but still get glimpse into its history, it is worth to see the Castle to learn more of the Omani history and the entry is only 1.00€, the Dhow tour last few hours so you will have plenty of time to scape to the Castle while you are in Khasab.

There are exhibits of traditional Musandam lifestyle and artefacts. Three examples of locally made boats, as well as replicas of traditional Musandam houses

View of the ship from the Castle

3. Khasab Mosque

From the port, there are free buses that take you to the castle and the city centre, The city has very few shops and the Mosque, this is the first mosque that I visited on my trip. This is not one of the biggest mosques in Oman, I will show you The Grand Mosque in Muscat in future posts.

When travelling, we need to respect the customs of the countries we are visiting so if we want to go into a mosque, we need to cover our arms, our hair and wear something long to cover the legs until the ankles, (have a cardigan and some socks to wear if you are going inside the mosque)

I recommend to see the city as the bus is free, it takes a couple of hours to see the city and castle, later you can see Khasab beach, do snorkelling or take the Dhow tour

Evening in Royal Caribbean with DRESSLINK

This lovely dress was really useful when I visited Khasab so I could wear something long over my legs and it was also perfect to wear for a formal dinner in the ship.

The green dress is a gift and collaboration with Dresslink, it was quite thin material which it was good to walk in Khasab during a hot day but it is also lovely for a evening dinner during summer...

You can get this dress HERE and now it is reduced 70% , really low price!
Gold belt for $1.70 HERE (many colours available)

Have a lovely week everyone!

I absolutely love that dress! And it's my favorite color to wear right now. You look marvelous. The gold belt looks Greek looking. Can I ask, what's your heritage? You have long curly hair like me. :) What an interesting place to visit. I have a thing for Castles, so I was intrigued when browsing through your pictures. It's so nice that you like to travel. Look at all the wonderful things you come across every time. :)

Wishing you happy April days.

ok, I just saw on your side bar that you're Spanish. I'm not sure I mentioned this, but I'm part Spanish too (and Greek). Maybe that's why I can relate to your style. :)

It's a shame that the international situation is so tense and dangerous at the moment, I would never go to places like that especially after all the attacks that have been recently :(
I hope that this state of things better soon!

Musandam is full of fun activities and especially with sea adventure. You will find a lot of dhow cruise and boat leaving in the morning and giving an extraordinary entertainment to tourists in this area. The main attraction here is dolphin watching, snorkeling swimming, and visit to historical Islands. Khasab dhow cruise is the most amazing activity to do here.
